Monuments/castles and other objects in landscape

Ruins of old buildings and castles litter the British countryside. So much so, many of us take them for granted. I am fascinated to look at these as monuments which give greater meaning to time and space. I see the ruins and imagine the rest of the buildings. Where are they now? When were they removed. How time sees that everything decays. But whilst they are still here, why not revel in the glimpses of past lives they offer.
